We'll cut these strands to your desired length to make your own custom stringer! Featuring 24" or 36" spacing, the strand is perfect for our Paper Lanterns — you can hang a lantern on every bulb! See below for lantern spacing details.
Custom C9 Stringers are sold by the socket. Enter the number of sockets you need in the quantity box, then click the BUY button (see below to calculate footage).
If you need to order multiple strands, enter the TOTAL number of sockets you need, then during checkout under Special Instructions, indicate the number of sockets you need on each strand. For examples, click here.

- For use with C9/intermediate-base bulbs (sold separately).
- 24” spacing between sockets. To calculate length multiply # of sockets by 2. For instance, if you order 10 sockets the length will equal 20 feet (10x2). There will be a 12” lead cord on both ends.
- Maximum run is 1,000 watts. For 7 watt bulbs, you can order up to 142 sockets (284 ft.) and for 10 watt bulbs up to 100 sockets (200 ft.).
- If one bulb burns out, the rest stay lit.
- The cord will come with a male and female plug but you WILL NOT be able to plug them end to end.
- Manufactured with 18-gauge wire and high-quality sockets.
- Indoor or outdoor use.
- Not UL listed because we customize the length. We cut them at our site and assemble the plugs, which makes them no longer UL approved. The product itself is UL listed before cutting.

Not sure how many sockets to order? Here's a quick formula to figure out the quantity of sockets you should order based on the total number of feet you need:
24” spacing: Total feet of lights needed ÷ 2 = Quantity of sockets to order* *If your answer is not a whole number, round up to the nearest whole number. For example: If you need 125 feet of lights with 24” spacing, you would order 63 sockets (125÷2=62.5, round up to 63)

Using with Paper Lanterns
Are you planning to hang paper lanterns on the light strands? Here is a guide that explains how much space will be between the lanterns when using with the the 24" spacing:
- 18” lanterns = 6” between lanterns
- 16” lanterns = 8” between lanterns
- 14” lanterns = 10” between lanterns
- 12” lanterns = 12” between lanterns
- 10” lanterns = 14” between lanterns
- 8” lanterns = 16” between lanterns
- 6” lanterns = 18” between lanterns
